Thames Plaza PLC Fossetts Farm
Fossetts Farm is the subject of a new application for 966 residential homes, predominantly houses, with a Nursery, some local amenity retail and new areas of open space both within the site and by investment in the adjoining Prittlewell Camp Scheduled Monument. Given the size of the new community, a multi-disciplinary team of consultants has been appointed to design (Levitt Bernstein), access (HTS) and address issues arising including ecology, biodiversity and environmental effects, encapsulated into an Environmental Statement.
Historically permission has been granted for a new football stadium, funded by large scale retail, leisure, hotel and residential development, which has laid the foundations for the current application. The site still has historic Green Belt designations to contend with, the setting of a Scheduled Monument, local traffic conditions and the ever increasing calls to fund affordable housing, traffic improvements, ecological enhancements, education and training enhancements. A separate permission was also secured for Roots Hall Stadium for 502 residential units which will no longer be implemented.
